Comments: Several years ago, I found a letter and a picture from an army soldier that was addressed to his parents. The letter was dated Monday, Feb., 10, 1952.
In the letter he writes about the Operation Clam-Up schedule.
He closes the letter with "Lots of Love", Robert and PS - I love you all very much.
I am interested in finding out Robert's last name so that I may locate his family and provide them with this letter.
Thanks! js

My father Orville Tyndall passsed away in 1993. He never talked about his time in Korea. I have his flag from his internment and have requested his missing service medals. I would like to find the patches also, so that I can put them together in a shadowbox with his flag and medals. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: To Elizabeth Cook:
I just came across your entry on KWP and I thought I might be able to help. I am researching a medic who ran across a mine field while under fire to reach the the wounded members of a patrol on the 1st of December 1952, and was killed while performing emergency medical aid on them. It is very likely to have been Billie's patrol.
I have the names of the members of the 224th killed or injured that day. I tried sending emails via KWP (and koreanwar.org) but both bounced. If this information would be helpful please feel free to get in touch.

Comments: Looking for people and information concerning Henry Lee Holtzman (my father in law)from Fulda, IN. He doesn't talk much about Korea and I would like his daughter and grandchildren to know more about him. He is presently 78 years old and not likely to open up on his own. He carried a BAR in (I think) 2nd squad of Easy Company. He was a POW for a short time and traded back during a cease fire, dates unknown. Then transferred to driving six-by trucks. Anyone who knew him over there or has information about his service please contact me.

Comments: Greetings all, I am looking for information on my father who was wounded in Korea, April 28th, 1953. My father's name was Jack D. Johnson, and he was a Corporal. My father rarely talked about his wounds, but it's my understanding his Lieutenant had stepped on a land mine, killing him, and seriously wounding my father. I've been checking the causualty reports for Korea, and found 3 others who were in the same regiment and wounded or killed on that day. I believe the Lieutenant to be 2nd Lt. Robert G. Halay. from Pennsylvania. Also wounded in a similar report, from that day, and from that regiment was PFC Robert H. Strahan. He was from Indiana. Also wounded same day was Steinmetz, Robert N. He may have been a medic, as his branch of service given is Medical Department. I am looking for anyone who might remember my father, or this incident. I am pretty sure the LT. Halay is the man my father spoke of. The other two my not be related to the incident at all, but I have hope prehaps they were, or someone might remember my father and the incident. I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone might have, and would love to find someone who knew my father, or even had photo's of him. Thanks in advance.

Comments: This is worth a shot to me. I am looking for anyone who was in the same company as Billie Brackenbury. He was in company E. He was seriously wounded on Dec 1, 1952 and died on Dec 3, 1952. We know little about him while he was in Korea. I found out today that he was in Sata-Ri Valley, Korea. On the other documents that I have found online it says that he was wounded in North Korea. I dont know much about this war. I do know that Billie was close to an Otto Bivens. Who went to California because his father died and was never heard from again. My grandmother (Billie's sister), Margaret Brackenbury, wrote to Otto Bivens, a Harold Davis, and an Earl something. She does not remember his last name. Billie was only 19 when he died. We have a couple of pictures of Billie, one I see everytime I go to grandma's and its just a service picture. We have another one where he is with a Korean gal. From what I understand Billie wrote home and told his family that he was married to that gal. From talking with a few people they think it is highly unlikeable that he met and married this gal. I would really like to get in touch with anyone who knew him or knows of the others that I have mentioned above. Thank you.
