Comments:

Keywords: Was a member of the original unit formed at SouthCamp
Polk.Was later transferred to Fort Bragg. Lived on
Smoke Bomb Hill. Spent time with 82nd Airborne on TDY.
Service time was 4/46 to 10/47. Left as a Staff Sgt.
Have in my possession the original typed list of the
members of our unit.

Comments: My Dad is a disabled Korean War Veteran who also served in WWII. He served in Korea from Oct 1950-Dec 1951. I am so proud of his service and love his stories. He is my inspiration and I would love for him to be able to share his stories with the other brave men who served. Comments: Joined unit early 1949 @ Ft. Bragg N.C. smoke bomb hill. Went to Korea with team leader S/Sgt
John Wilde. Got burned late nov`50,went back to the states. Like to hear from anyone out there who was with the outfit at that time.FrankC.,Andy E,Denn, Cotter, Mercer, Horton, Frey, Cardillo, Dusty are some names I remember.

Comments: Some historical notes . Finished basic at Camp Polk in 1946 whenthe 2oth was born . Since I had been a radio officer for 3yrs at sea and a Ham was given the job of picking personnel /equipment SCR399/508/522/ etc

Set up school to train operators etc . Taught andmade T/Sgt in six months because of this . Had excellent men and over the years have lost track . We moved to Ft Bragg in 1947 and wereon Smokebomb Hill area .Would like to hear from original members -Birminham/Saperstien/Woodward/ Saunders/Pierro/Reardon/ Aligas/ and others who helped form the 20th. CO at Polk and Bragg
the time was Capt.Jenkins . Lt Williard Flint was one of the officers . Great men.
Transferred to Air Force Reserve in 47 - Served in 674th ACW Squadron Korean War

Comments: Served with the 20th AGL attached to the 8th ROK Division from End of 1951 to 1952, were part of the operation Rat Trap. Seeking out North Koreans that infiltrated the lines -- this is what were told. We were heading down to the southwest coast of Korea. I think that it was plans for a future jump off place to the big C.
