Comments: Pvt. James F. Binkley Received The Silver Star, The Purple Heart for his actions on Dec 1,1950 which claimed his life. I never knew this man, he died before I was born. He was in The 205 Signal Corps and there is very little I know about his life in the army. He was my Uncle and I am very proud of him. If there is anyone who might have known him or someone who's parent might have knew him, please contact me. Any information would be thankful

Comments: I was there from Dec. 1954 to Apr. 1955 when I rotated to the states. We had moved up from the south by Osan where we supported the 739th AAA Gun Bn. and their SCR-584 Radars and AN/TPS-1Ds. I´ve got a couple of pictures of some of the guys working on an MPQ-10. Will send, if anyone is interested.

Yes, this is a request for help concerning the Korean War Period !!!
In February of 1952, I was assigned to Team "E" of the 205th Signal
Repair Company ( a part of The Eighth Army). At that time, Team "E" was
located with (and shared mess, PX and other facilities with) The
Headquarters Company of The 25th Infantry Division (call name
"Lightening").
Team "E" provided service for and repair of Signal Corps Equipment
(radio, radar, telephone equipment etc.) for The 25th Infantry
Division, The Turkish North Star Brigade, 1st Marine Division (and camp
Tripoli), 7th and 8th Republic of Korea (ROK) Divisions and other units.
While in Korea, I rarely saw or had access to maps. So, other than
knowing, that at that time we were located somewhere between The
Punchbowl and Heartbreak Ridge, I never knew precisely where I was in
the "big map of things".
Also, can you locate for me (as precisly as possibile) the location
(coordinates) of some of the following organizations (during
February 1952) or areas.
1) Headquarters Company of The 25th Infantry Division
2) Heartbreak Ridge (stretching from ______ to _____)
3) The Punchbowl (approximate center and radius)
4) Camp Tripoli (1st Marine Division's rear or rest area)
5) Turkish North Star Brigade (rear area)
6) Smoke Valley (smoke generators for)
7) Artillery Valley
It's funny.... when I was in Korea, I really wasn't concerned about
where I was. I could always look down at my feet and see where I was
standing. I always knew where I was, it was just that I didn't know
where that was on a map. I just had to know where I was going (there
was always someonewho would tell me where to go).
Now, some forty-six years later, when my children and grand-children ask
me, "where were you", besides showing them some old photos or slides of
my travels through the mountains of Korea, I'd like to be able to pull
out a map and show them where I had been.
Sometime in about May of 1952, "E" Team and I were pulled back to X
Corps Command located in the Kwandae-ri and Inje areas. The 25th Div
was moved to a western sector and replaced by the 40th and 45th
Divisions which we then served along with ROK Divisions and others.
Again, any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Yours truly,
David L Paulson
ex SFC and N.C.O.I.C (eventually)
Team "E", 205th Sig. Rep. Co.
