Comments: My father in-law served in Korea in 1950-1951 I believe. He was in Ft. Sill Okalahoma before he shipped out to Korea. He shipped out from Camp Stoneman on the Breckenridge and landed in Puson in the middle of the night. He would love to hear from anyone who served with the 1ST FA Observation Battallion C Battery during that time. I listed a few of the names that he mentioned. I am an Army brat myself (my father served in Vietnam)and I know how much these relationships and old friendships mean. There is a special bond between service people that is never broken. Thank all of you in advance for all of your help.

Comments: Hello my friends and fellow 1st OBers,

In 1951, Jul - Sep, I was on a Flash Ranging outpost just east of hill 1062. One night, about an hour before darkness set in, Khumwha valley opened up on my OP and the front line troops.

During counterfire and incoming shelling one round landed close enough to the forward slop of my hill that the concussion knocked me off my feet and threw me back-over the hill top. I did not learn until a few years later that my back got broken during that incident. My DAV "rep" tells me that if I can find someone* who could corroborate any of this information that should be enough to get me what I deserve-the Purple Heart Medal to supplement my 100% disability.

By any remote chance, would any of you have information that would support my argument.

Many regards,
Charles Rathburn, SFC-Ret
