Comments: I am looking for a 1st Cavalry veteran named Robert "Pancho" Garcia. He may have been attatched to a signal company and was in Germany in 1954. Robert was a bit on the heavy side and may well have been from Puerto Rico or Texas. I can send a picture on request. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Comments: Our family has been very fortunate in finding out recently that the remains of our Uncle, Cpl. Clem Robert Boody, of Iowa have been positively identified. I am wondering if anyone might have served with him or remember him prior to the battle at Unsan? He was listed as MIA 02 November 1950 and later declared dead 31 December 1953. I have seen another returnee's remembrance of possibly "sighting" a Robert Booty (pretty close) as a POW and we are attempting to find out if in fact our Uncle was ever held as a POW after 02 November 1950, or if anyone who returned from this battle perhaps remembers serving with Clem? IF YOU ARE LOOKING AROUND THIS SITE...YOU POSSIBLY HAVE A MISSING FAMILY MEMBER. Please contact the appropriate branch of military service for information on the DNA/repatriation project ongoing at the Central Identification lab in Hawaii. There are over 800 unidentified remains located in The National Cemetery (better known as the punchbowl) many more still on foreign soil and not yet home. Our family's recent notification is proof positive that even after 57 years, it is not "too late" to continue the quest... having surviving family members CONTRIBUTE DNA IS AN IMPORTANT STEP IN MAYBE BRINGING YOUR SOLDIER HOME!

Comments: My father passed away when I was a child in 1971 . I know very little about him and the guys he served with . I'm hoping that someone might remember him. His name was Gaetan Deschenes but was also known as "Pete" and judging from the pictures he looks like the "old man "of the group at 27. I know he was involved in a battle near Chobakkol 10/4/51 because he earned the bronze star for having "unending courage" during what is describe as "bitter fighting". The Chinese attacked at night . He was a switchboard operator and sometimes smoked a pipe and I'm sure cigarettes. On the press release I have it says he was with 7th calvery 2nd battalion the letter head on the original press release says Headquarters & Headquarters company 2nd battalion 7th calvery APO 201 if that helps at all. His division spent 17 months on the front lines and then went to Hokkaido Japan where he learned artic survival and how to fight on skies and snowshoes.

Comments: I am trying to find the written results of the investigation of an anti-tank mine explosion which occurred on Oct 30, 1964. The bulldozer, an old TD 20, I was operating caused the detonation; I was hospitalized at the 44th Air Evac and the 121st MASH for a couple months. The incident was investigated by HQs Co. but I can not find the results. Any info., comments or help will be appreciated. Alan Blass of B CO. was accidentally killed that day.

Comments: I am the son of deceased Army Sgt. Avis William Burris who served in Korea around 1950-51 in the 1st Cav, 5th Regt., Co E. I am at odds with the Army Review Board who has denied my father his earned purple heart which was never awarded. I am looking for someone who may have known him and about his injuries received. And, if that person would be willing to send a letter to me that could be forwarded to the review board as new evidence. I have one year to produce any new evidence. I am an Army veteran with service with the 1st Cav in Korea 1958-59. Thanks for any assistance you might give and God bless you for your service during the Korean Conflict (WAR).

Comments: My dad was a lieutenant in the Army during the Korean war. Other than his unit, (1st Cav, 5th Regiment, Company A) I know very little about that time. If anyone could share with me info of his unit while he was in Korea, I would certainly appreciate it.
All I can tell you is he wore a patch with a goat on it. His name is FRANK WILLIAM TRINKLE
I am retired Air Force, but looking into historical information on what was going on in Korea when my father was there, and where he might have been.
Thanks!
Melanie

Comments: SFC John R Harp was my grandfather and a grand person. He taught me to be a man. He also taught me about the Korean war. I was always so suprised how many people my age, 29, know so little about the terrible atrocities commited against our troops there. Fire and Ice conditions and the ugly face of war. My grampa passed away on 14 August 2001. I was able to spend his last few months close to him and his last night and morning. I am writting a book on Korean war surrounding the stories my Grampa told me. I am looking for any input, or stories anybody who served with him can tell me. He left me a list of names of guys he served with. Their names are: Bianculli, Owens, Reel, (POW), Richard,Roberts, Rubin, Swartz, Wysocke, and his close friend Jimmy Fine who was killed next to him. He always said " why him and not me?" He was awarded CIB badge, 5 bronze stars, Korean presidential citation, Korean service medal. He joined the Army in November of 45, served as an occupation force in Germany. He was then shipped to Japan then on to Po-Hang on the MT. Mckinley then boarded LST's for an amphibous assault. He rotated home in May of 1951 then to Germany until discharged December of 1953. You must understand that I want my book as accurate as possible so any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks Zac R Harp.

Comments: This is my first try in trying to locate those who I served with in the 15th QM in the Korean War. One is HAROLD BROWN, another was SGT PAPPY with a big beard & moustache. They all liked to play pinochle when not driving the trucks, we would play our wind-up record player in the tent and one guy constantly was singing Hank Snow songs. Another guy was "Englnd" or "English" and I drove truck #83. It would be great to hear from any of you and I would like to have a roster if anyone has one.
