Comments: I have a letter here from my uncle that he wrote to his sister from a hospital in Pusen, Korea..dated Nov. 8, 1951. In it he tells of being wounded in action on the front line on the 9th of October, 1951. He was treated for shrapnel from a hand grenade and sent back to the front. He was later found to have a chip out of his spine. He mentions that they are trying to get him back in the MP's because of his last war experience (in which he was in the Merrill's Marauders,) Would anyone have information on what happened at that time? What battle and where it could have been?
Thank you for any information

Comments: I am very please to have discovered the Korean War Project, and that it has managed to remain on line. What you are doing for veterans, their, families and friends, and interested people worldwide, is absolutely amazing. Its unreal that you can do such a super job with only contributions, when after 50 years our goverment has squandered millions of tax dollars and, as is the norm, accomplish little except lining the pockets of those in the know. Long live the Barker boys. Two great, dedicated and intelligent "average guys" folks.

Comments: Our family has unsuccessfully attempted to have the Purple Heart awarded for injuries Robert Kadrlik received in battle during the Korean War. I am hoping to find anyone who may have been in this organization or working at an aid station nearby.
This injury occurred July 6, 1951 during battle in Korea. Robert was wounded by several shrapnel fragements in the left shoulder. He received treatment by a medic on the front line and continued his duties. The next day he was ordered to an aid station by his superior where he received follow up treatment.
When the request was made for this award we were informed that the records were either unavailable or may have been destroyed. No records are recoverable in the St. Louis or Virginia locations. Because there are no available records of Robert's injury, I am trying to find out what aid station treated him and verify his injury through their records.
Sincerely,
Tim Kadrlik
