Comments: I am run the Hawaiian Military Insignia Collectors and Study Group. I need some additional information on my Lineage and Honors Statement for the 29th Infantry. Q#1: The regiment lost the lst Battalion to the 35th Infantry and the 3d Battalion to the 27th Infantry, both of the 25th Infantry Division. Whatever happened to the 2d Battalion. I have a short note stating that the 29th Returned to Okinawa yet it dosen't make sense unless it was the 2d Battalion. After the Defense of Pusan the 29th disappeared from the scene. Can anyone shed any light on this unit following the breakup? In comradeship and aloha, 1SG C. W. Aresta (RET)

Comments: Praise the Lord for ALL veterans from all of the wars Americans have been in. I'm personaly thankful! My dad came home from Korea with some very ugly memories of that war and pieces of a truck imbedded in his leg. My husband and two Uncles made it home from Vietnam, some missing body parts. I don't believe in the term CONFLICT or any others that try to demean what our Military Forces have been through; have fought for; have been injuried for; have died for whether male or female. Thank you for the freedom I'm able to enjoy.
I'm trying to make contact with any and all Army veterans that remember my dad. He is alive and doing great in California. I know he was in Korea July 1959-July 1951. I don't know the dates but he was also stationed in New Jersey; Japan; the Panama Canal Zone (before 1953-1955/56); Fort Sam Houston,TX; and Fort Ord, CA.
My dad was born in Branson, MO. I also remember that one of his friends was Otis Spears. Please get back to me about this. I KNOW my dad would be so happy to hear from you. Thank you, Mary

I have named my son after him and I would like to recieve any information anyone can share about him. I have always wanted to know more about him, but it was hard for my family to talk about it. My mom and I have gone through most of his letters he wrote to my Grandma and he seemed so sweet and kind, his last letter is dated July 16, 1950 which is very erie. Also he was listed as MIA for 2 years and then KIA, but his body was never sent back home, so we are not sure exactly when he died. If anybody knew him or knew of him please email me. Comments: I posted a message here in 1998. Two years later I got an e-mail in response. Because of your wonderful web page I was able to meet with nine men that served with my Father. These men came to my home town from all over America. We had a great time. I have never met a better bunch of guys. I could see first hand why my Father was so proud to serve with these men. These men had not seen each other for fifty years, but the closeness they shared in Korea was still there! I am very greatful for this web page and the men of "Big Mike". Thanks so much, Harry Reed II
