Fuehrer, my father-in-law was born in McKeesport, PA in 1921. He had served in WW II and was in the Anzio Beach landing. After a brief break in service he answered our Nation's call to go to the ROK. He was wounded by small arms fire and rec'd the Purple Heart. I recently returned from a three year assignment in Taegu, ROK where I was able to take his daughter, Frances Jo and four of his grand kids to K-2 airfield from whence he departed for the Good Friday Jump into combat. Not sure which battalion he was with. Would like to hear from any who knew him or served with him in America's so-called "forgotten war." I'll never forget his love for his country and family. Also of interest is that on that jump was Chaplain (CPT) Robert G. Rayburn, one of three chaplains who jumped into Munsan-ni. He was the founding president of my seminary, Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, MO. His first jump was without the benefit of jump school! God kept him safe that day and throughout the war. My dad made the second jump in Korea with the 187th. We are in the process of restoring two 3/4 ton Dodge M37 Weapon carriers. We would like to hear from anyone who knew him. Also need pictures of trucks with the 187th markings to aid with our restoration of these trucks. Any response is appreciated. Keywords: CP Miller |
