Comments: My brother share the same birthday, July 18. He was several years older than I. He was killed in action on our birthday in 1953. He is forever on my mind. I would be so releaved to hear from anyone who knew him or knew of him during his time in Korea. All I have is the official account of his death which doesn't really tell the whole story. If you can help me I would really appreciate it. Where was Pau-gol? I can't find it on a map.

Comments: Elmer Korman (Cotton), WIA late 1951, early 1952. Elmer and I went through basic training, 47th Infantry Division, 682nd Combat Engineers, Camp Rucker Alabama, 1951. I shipped out for Korea in Nov 1951, Elmer left after I did. I don't know if he was attached to the 45th as a Combat Engineer or was assigned to one of the 45th's combat engineer battalions. Elmer died early this year from complications of treatment received in Korea and had blood transfusions at a MASH unit. The VA now thinks the blood had probably been contaminated. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the incident during which Elmer was wounded?

Comments: My father Michael O'Connor served in the 45th INF Div during the Korean War. I don't know what unit he served with as he does not speak much about it. At present, my father is seriously ill. I would like to know what references are available on the 45th so I can build him a plaque with his decorations on it from one soldier to another. My father graduated from the Leaders Course of the 9th Inf Div on 2 March 1951. He also graduated from Medical Aidmans Course on 27 October 1951. These courses were completed prior to his deployment to korea. If anyone knows him please feel free to send a message. My father was drafted under the lodge bill act and was Irish if this will help anyone remember him.
Thank You SFC Kevin O'Connor

Comments: I have just recently began searching for information on my deceased father's participation in the Korean War.
He would not discuss it in any capacity. Looking at the collection of service bars and a few medals I have in my possession, I became 'curious'.
I would like to talk with anyone that served with him. I have a few pictures of him with other comrades while in Korea, but there is no identification.
My Father, Joe A Bartoush, from Arkansas, was assigned to Company C, 1st Bn, 180th Inf, 45th Div.
If you have any information or knew him I would sincerely appreciate hearing from you..
Sincerely,
