Comments: I have been looking for info. about my father while he served in Korea. Unfortunately I don't have much to go on. The stories I hear from family members don't seem to match the war timeline. I think he was discharged in 1953. I have pictures, but I can't make out any insignia. I remember him saying he was a tanker, but he never said what company or where he was stationed. Can anyone advise me where to look next? Thank you so much

Comments: My dad was in Korea from Aug. 52 until Jan 53. He was assigned to a halftrack with the quad .50 AAA setup although I believe it was used as infantry support. In a letter to my mother he wrote of having named the halftrack "Texas Tornado". Said it was in really sad shape but he seemed real proud of it anyway. I have made contact with several of his friends from Camp Rucker where he trained but none of those guys went to Korea with him. I am looking for anyone who might have served with him. His name was Lloyd G. Williams although everyone called him "Soupy". Maybe "Willie". He passed away in 79 without ever talking too much about it. I did gather a little information through the years but not much. Now my sons want to know about their grandfather so I would appreciate any information I can get. I have gathered some information and I have a few photos I can share.

Am looking for anyone who can help me to get final discharge papers, as
well as any of my buddies I was in service with at this time. I went in
service from Cleveland, Oh. to Ft. Knox, KY, from there to Camp
Chaffee, Arkansas,to Korea.
I drove a tank for the 179th tank co. I remember being on Christmas
Hill, Heartbreak Hill, PunchBowl. The Company Commander was from
somewhere in Oregon. I think the Supply Sargeant's name was Prock and
he too was from Cleveland.
