ASSISTANCE PLEASE |
| CONNIE SPACKEY wrote on September 7, 2011 CITY AND STATE: LANCASTER OH UNIT: 3RD INFANTRY DIVISION/ARMY SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: Keywords: My father served in 50-51 on the front lines and has struggled for years trying to deal. He still to this day will not forgive himself for being a "murderer" even though he realizes he was serving his country. Only recently he has mentioned to me that he would like to be able to have his uniform and awards so he could wear them on Veteran's Day. I would so very much like to be able to get those for him-if he can finally be able to cope with all he went through somehow-it is the absolute least any veteran deserves. His name is Eugene Fraley if anyone remembers him. Please help me honor him by locating the right people so that this can happen. Thanks to everyone for serving-you are not forgotten! |

Upon returning to my company, our CWO, Lastort told the unit what I had reported and ordered those who agreed with me to take two steps forward. Two band members, Orville Snyder and Jerry Beardmore stepped out and orders were cut to send us up to the line. Orville and I went to the regiment and Jerry was assigned as forward observer. I am interested in hearing from anyone familiar with this. A letter was sent to my parents claiming I was sent to the line because of unit cuts. WHAT BATTLES OR HILLS WAS MY DAD INVOLVED WITH? |
| JIM DAVIDSON JR. wrote on February 22, 2009 CITY AND STATE: WYLIE TX UNIT: SERVICE OR RELATIONSHIP: FAMILY MEMBER Comments: My father was in Korea from approx 2/52 to 6/53 with 3rd ID company C/HQ 15th Inf Regiment. He never really spoke to much about Korea other than how cold it was over there and things were rather tough. He recently passed away and I found a bronze star order that was awarded after he left Korea. He did tell me that he was wounded in early 1952 and shipped to Japan. I can't find the order for this purple heart or his 1st CIB. When he was shipped back he was assigned to drive for Maj John D. Eisenhower until leaving Korea. This was around Oct. 1952 Can someone provide information on battles or hills he might have been involved with?
