ARMY CORONAL KOREAN WAR DAUGHTER INGER OR INGRID 1955 |
| TAMMY FATHER (ALBERT) HOERNER wrote on April 1, 2009 City and State: KIRKLAND WA Unit: Service or Relationship: ARMY VETERAN Comments: My father was in the army in 1955 he dated the Colonels daughter her name was Inger or Ingrid. My father's name was Albert E. Hoerner from Yakima, Washington . They conceived a daughter in approx. March 1955. He was asked not to stay and he left for home United States. It was against the rules to be with Coronals daughter. He later married Rita and they have 4 children. Albert passed away Feb. 7, 2009. We always wondered about the 1/2 sister we have somewhere. We know little because Dad didn't talk much about it but he always wondered. If you know anything about this please email. Thank-you, Tammy Hoerner Keywords: In Germany Army Coronal's daughter gave birth girl 1955 Father American from Washington. |

LOOKING FOR INFO ON 14TH PORT BATTALION |
| ALBERT BARRERA wrote on November 28, 2005 City and State: TX Unit: Service or Relationship: INTERESTED PERSON Comments: Am gathering info on a 2nd lieutenant Colonel Rufus Winfield Johnson who served in Korea with the 14th port battalion, 2nd logistical command. His main mission was to bring back to the states the remnants of the 442nd infantry. The 442nd was being brought back to the states to train others. Apparently, they were first loaded at Inchon but the enemy was waiting so a decision was made to switch them to Kunsan. By the time the enemy found out about the switch, the 442nd was safe on a large vessel. The enemy sunk 22 smaller vessels but the 442nd was safe some distance away. Any info you could supply me with regarding Colonel Rufus W. Johnson and the 14th port battalion and its mission in Korea would be great. Thank you. regards, Albert Barrera albertbarrera@sbcglobal.net Keywords: 14th port battalion, 2nd logistical command, 442nd, kunsan, inchon |
