Comments: Hello,

I am looking for more information on the 143rd Artillery's A Battery during their time in Korea (1950 through 1953). Lots of great stuff out there on B Battery, but I haven't found much on A Battery.

Would also like to contact people who served in A Battery with my father, Roy Metzger, originally from Rockwood, Michigan.

Thank you!

Comments: My name is Daniel Drabinsky I reside in Los Angeles
California. I am a historian and an expert in spotting
items of historical value. Last week an old lady
walked
into a local goodwill store and dropped off several
items. I at first did not pay attention to the items
and
a few of the items sold. Out of curiousity I examined
one of the items more closely and found a name typed
on
the inside of one of the items. This of course changed
everything. The items were the PERSONAL EFFECTS OF
MAJOR
GENERAL HOMER EATON. I bought all the items
immediately
for the museum here in California. However, who was
the
elderly woman???????? I need your help on this one

Melvin told me on many times he performed sniper duty during his time in Korea and had nightmares until his last breath. We must ensure our younger generations do not forget the sacrifices
our troops made in Korea.

Comments: I am the director of the California State Military Museum located in Sacramento.

We would like the former members of the 40th ID that we have established a archives here at the museum. We are making a major effort to preserved the photos, records, and papers of the members of the division and make them available to historians, researchers, and family members.

The current 40th ID HQ has already transferred all of their photos from WWII, the official 40th Signal Co combat camera set as well as other collections of the Division's history.

If you can get this out to your members, we would appreciate it.
