1961-1954 Radio Section - Japan

Comments: Looking for buddies who served with me in the 1st Calvary Division, 13th Signal company, radio section. I was stationed out of Ft Crawford, Hokkaido Japan from 1951 - 1954.

My nickname was Moose or Moo10. I remember a Santa Clause in the hospital bed next to me after I was injured in an accident(and I have a great picture!) ....Anyone remember Santa? If you served with me let me know I'd like to trade stories.

Did you serve with my Dad?

Comments: I'm hoping to fine someone who might have served with my Dad in Japan from '50-53. His name was Charlie MacLeod from Boston Massachusetts. He was in the 13th Signal Corps. Any help or guidance is very appreciated! Thank you.

13th Signal

Comments: Was in 13th Sig from Jan 1952 thru June 1954 at Camp Crawford. Still have close friend Harry D Gartner, Beatrice, Neb. Started out as a lineman and transferred to motor pool. Great times were had and miss the gang.

Comments: I am looking for an Army veteran named Robert "Pancho" Garcia who may have been in the 13th signal company. He was in the 1st Cavalry and was attatched to the 321st Signal in Germany TDY in early 1954 and had been in the 1st Cavalry. Robert may have been from Puerto Rico or Texas and was a bit on the heavy side. ANY information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Comments: See above. Anybody visit the craftshop in HB? There was a Japanese gentlemen named Kotaro-san with whom I ma in frequent email contact. I dont remember him butdo recall the laundry menf (2) andthe opd papa-san who sewed for a free Coke! Good times.

LOOKING FOR INFO SGT JOHN G KENNEDY

Comments: Looking for any information on my grandfather, Sgt John G Kennedy who served with 1st Calvary Division in Korea and was involved in the Inchon landing. He died in 1983. He was a career Army guy who served in WWII, Korea and the early days in Vietnam. Would appreciate any information about his service. He was a proud man and did not share alot about his service.

Clifton "Buck" Carroll Arnold, 70, Aurora, W.Va., died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Born July 2, 1933, in Red House, he was a son of the late Ernest William and Lucille Marie Lemasters Arnold.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the strip mines, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, 1st Calvary Division, 13th Signal Company. He was also a life member of the American Legion Post #71, Oakland, and a member of the Aurora VFD and Union Ambulance Squad.

Surviving are his wife, DeAnna Louise Hollen Arnold; three sons, Gregory Scott Arnold, Columbus, Ohio, Nicholas Robert Arnold, Aurora, and Chad Wesley Arnold, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Bernard "Buzz" Arnold, Aurora, and Ernest "Ed" Arnold, Davis, W.Va.; two sisters, Janice Loughry, Boyertown, Pa., and Caroline Thrasher, Newnan, Ga.; and one grandchild.

Friends were received at the Aurora Memorial Building.

A service was held at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon, W.Va., on Monday, April 5, with the Rev. Michael Ludle officiating.

Interment was in the Aurora Cemetery.

Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va., was in charge of arrangements.

Nam 1965-66

Comments: I am looking for friends that were there from 65 to 66. The sad part is I have mostely forgot any names from that time. One name I think I remember was a guy we named T. I believe his name to be Bob or Robert Taylor(NOT SURE) of this. HELP !

Comments: My Dad Scott M. McKay served with the 13th Signal Company, 1st Cavalry Divsion as of June 24, 1949 in Korea. He died in 1983 and I have been trying to find out info about him and his servcice there. Any info is welcome.

Comments: I metal-detect and I found a unit crest with the number 13 in the center. Unit crest is very nice with enlayed enamel. The unit motto is " It shall be Done". Is there anyone out there that can give me some information. I have been told it was 13th signal.

Comments: When I came home from Korea all of my personel papers that I had in Japan of all of my buddies were lost and being out on detailed to various outfits in Korea,hardly back at Signal Co.,my personel documents of friends were sometimes lost on the various moves that I made.Would like to hear from troopers from the 13th and also easy company 2nd battalion 5th cav. Reg't where I originally started in 1949,July,my tour of Japan.
