Comments: I just recently found this wonderful site and just recently posted an entry. I actually talked more with my father to get more information to post a better more information filled entry to try to better assist in finding his old buddies. He was in 13th Engineer Battalion, Combat. 7th Infantry Division. He was in Korea during 1955-1956 near Tongduchon, where at the time he was an E4-Specialist. He remembers his first sergeant being a red headed tall man a little polish looking.. he doesnt recall his name. He remembers a fellow soldier name Edgar Hoover who they used to tease around a bit but who was a good friend. If anyone recalls him or any of his friends or company.. please contact me!! Thank you and God Bless America

Comments: My dad is 78 and in failing health. He enlisted at 16 or 17 and went through basic at Fort Dix, NJ. He remembers he was in the 13th Engineers Batilion and was in Korea and in Japan. I have 2 photos of him in uniform, one at completion of basic and one as a private first class. He does not have anything else to prove he was ever enlisted and trying to secure him veteran's benefits is like beating myself in the head with a brick. I have enlisted the help of our local VA office, the gentlemen there are wonderful but they are also at loss. I found this site and was hoping anyone would remember the soldier that ran the rollerskating rink, was a boxer and other recreational activities while enlisted. His name is John F. Santagata from Stamford, CT. He served in the late 40's, we're thinking he enlisted around 44 or 45 and out by 1948. My dad was a skinny guy, weighing maybe 125 lbs. I know he came home through Washington State, per his recollection. Thank you.

I am looking for anyone who remembers serving with me in the second
sqaud, second platoon, A Company 13th Engineer [C] Bn. from August 1950
till October, 1951.

I am especially looking for Robert Baugh, Redding, CA, Claude F. Keller
from North Carolina, Stevens from Virginia, Sgt. Hamby from I don't
remember, Jack Rickard from Illinois.

I have a book with all the names and addresses of the guys that were in
my squad when I rotated home on October of 1951. When I find the book,
I will update this letter.

I was squad leader and Charles Bluman was assistant squad leader.
Charlie and I have found each other.
