Comments: There are so many that I remember by their faces, but, their names have faded away ..... I arrived in korea on 7/5/52 and departed at the end of August of 53 from Inchon .... Yipeee ........

I just remembered the name of Jack Painter and his guitar, he wasn,t with us for very long ......

I still remember his silly ass grin as he left ... To go back home ....... My, how time flies : (

I wish I was back in korea right now, because I would be only 22 years old ........ : )

Comments: A 1st LT Whiteside was our Battery commander at Ft. Lewis, WN, 1954-55. Was 44th Div. and then became 2nd Division after the war. Whiteside had been a POW. Wondered if anyone has information on him.

I am searching for any available information on the 2nd Infantry Div,
12th Field Artillery Battalion, in which I served in Korea from April of
'52 through May of '53. I am also searching for information on several
of the men I served with who did not return from Korea. They would
have been killed during July and August of '52; all I know to call
them by would be Lt. Howard and Cpl. Durant, who were both casualties
at the Battle of Old Baldy.

I checked the Korean War Memorial Database while in Washington D.C. and
discovered that both of their names are missing from the database
and would like to see that some information about them can be obtained
and included in the database.

I have searched several websites for any information regarding either
my battalion or the friends I lost, but have been unable to find
anything at all. Any information you could give me to help my search
would be appreciated beyond words. My email address is at:
jodon@powersupply.net.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Don Merrill

Ed note:	Lt. Philip Howard is listed on the KWP dataset, but
Cpl. Durant is not. Please send any information to the KWP and to
Don...

Very happy to find this site and all the info on the Korean War. It's
not the Forgotten War any longer thanks to your efforts. I served 2ID,
12th Artillery Headquarters 1953-1954. Shipped from Camp Chafee to
Korea. Assigned to 25 Division and shipped home to Hawaii. The email
address is my daughter.
