Comments: Trying to find information about my deceased father's Korean War service. Like most, he didn't say too much about it. However, I remember him saying he was with the Army Security Agency. When I was very young I remember a visitor that was one of his war-time buddies and their talk about "a palace, a sword, China's push, etc." Before he died in 1994, he told me his records were destroyed in the St. Louis fire.

Comments: I was looking at some maps of Korea on this or some other site and realized in my message 46583 I had said I was at a DF site near Uijonbu, but the maps I looked at suggest that may not be so.
I think the little town we were near was Munsan-ni and not Uijonbu. Does that strike a bell with anyone?
A lot of names are coming back to memory now: ie. Bob Medved, Bob Pickard, Bobby Burch, Dick Molitor, Al Koehler and Joe Rizzo. But I could have met them in several places other than Korea. Not too sure.
Anyone remember me?

Comments: Served in a RDF unit in Uijongbu from June 1951 to May 1952. Originally a MOS 0799 (I think) if this was a Morse Intercept Op. serving in TRRS and Kyoto, Japan from Aug 1949 to June 1951. When they sent us to Korea became just a plain ole radio op as part of the RDF unit. Enlisted in Aug 1948 in Michigan, basic at Cp Brecknrdge, Ky, 9/48 to 12/48, Radio school at Camp Gordon, Ga 1/49 to 6/49, further school at Carlisle Bks, Pa 6/49 to 8/49, then to TRRS 8/49 thre 12/50. Are there any ASA buddies my age still out there?

BILL CHARAMUT wrote on 2003-12-23 14:47:00.0
Comments: There is a possibility I know him. Does he live in Newington Conn. He was in Korea. We spoke shortly after the war in late 1957. Talked a bit, Dont think he understood me though, kind of babbling at the time. He did most of the talking. Kind of babyish stuff. But it was many years ago - my memory has somewhat faded since that conversation. Hope I can be of further help. Good luck in your search.

Comments: My father, Charles McDonald, was stationed at Fort Devens in the mid 50's. He was part of the signal corp. I am trying to determine which building at Fort Devens served as the hospital in 1955 and 1956. I recently visited Fort Devens. While there, three sites were identified as former hospital sites. THe building that was off of Hospital Road is no longer there. Another building located on Antethiam Road is still there and currently being renovated for commercial use. It is a brick building probably built in 1940's. THe other site is now within the Federal Prison system medical facilities located there. Does anyone recall a hospital in the 50's?

126 Signal Svc Co ASA
Date: Fri, 4 Oct 1996
From: Gene Slobodianuk genokeno@ix.netcom.com
I am most interested in locating any members of the 126th Signal
Service Co. that went to Korea in the summer of 1951.
I would also like to know if any reunions have been planned. Most
of the fellas I went to Korea with spent a lot, of time at V.H.F.S.
Petaluma, CA.
Since we are all getting up in age there is just not enough time to get
together again, either physically or by way of the internet.
If youre out there get in touch with me please.

way of contacting him....or any others from the same outfit?
