Comments: Am trying to establish if Pvt Johnny Anderson, from Mississippi, is know to anyone that fought in Italy in WW II with him as part of the 45th Inf. Division. His discharge papers say he was attached to the 540th Sig Hv Cons Co, but I can't find anything about that Co being attached to the 45th. Does anyone know if it was and was it part of the 120th Eng Combat Bn? Would really appreciate some help. ...And any additional info on the units (or where to look). Thanks

Comments: I am looking for anyone who served with my father in Korea. He was a member of the 120th engineer combat battalion, 45th division. He came from Minnesota from the 47th division. My father just passed away on July 3rd of this year. Only 22 days ago. Dad never spoke of his time in Korea. It was to difficult for him to talk about it. So if any one remembers him please email me. My mom and my four sisters would love to hear from anyone that knew him. We will miss him and he will always be our hero, as will all the rest of you.

Kenneth Edwards wrote on 2004-08-14 20:32:22.0
Comments: Dear Readers, I am writing this posting on behalf of my father, Cpl. Kenneth Edwards who served in the 45th Infantry Division 120th Engr C Bn Company B, from Feb. 52 to Nov. 53. I am desperately looking for any who served with my father. Kenneth Edwards is dying of cancer. He will not be with us much longer. Dad may have left Korea in 1953 but it has been the biggest part of his life. Twenty years ago my father died after a lengthy operation. He was in his hospital bed and it was undiscovered for sometime. He was revived but the end result left him with permanent brain damage. The damage affected his recent memory but his early years were left untouched. Because of this he has been consumed with all aspects of the Korean war. At every occasion I have done my best to give him gifts of books, almanacs and memorabilia of the Korean War. Dad's last birthday will be Sunday August 22nd. I would dearly love to have any who served with him to send him a card or a letter or perhaps a phone call. Please use the additional info button to get his details. I love my father dearly and I can not think of any better gift than a thoughtful hello from his brothers in arms. Thank you all for taking the time to read this letter. I hope it finds a few of you who served with Cpl. Kenneth E. Edwards. Thank You and God Bless you all

Comments: I do WW2 re-enacting, and my unit portrays the 45th infantry division. After about a year, each of us gravitate to an area we are interested in, so some stay infantry, some had relitives in ordinance so they portray that, one of our members is a medic in real life, so he does the 120th medical. My interest was in mine warfare, so I became the representive of the combat engineers. I am always trying to learn more about the 120 engineers, so I guess that is why I posting this. It is difficult to find the history of the 120th engineers during WW2. Anyone interested in helping me out, please feel free to email me. If you are interested in our reenactment group, please visit www.45thdivision.org we have an extensive history site.

Comments: We just found our fathers Division information. He was Orrin Bradshaw from Allegan, Michigan and was part of the 45th Infantry Division, 120th Engineer Combat, Company B, PFC. He was stationed in Korea during 56 to 57 but maybe before that. We can no longer get his military records as they burned in the fire in 1994. Both our parents have passed away and we are all interested in knowing more information about his service time and where he was stationed at, etc. Thanks, Cindy Andrews ( Bradshaw) mudrunner@chartermi.net (He went onto become an Operating Engineer with Local 324 in Michigan. He also introduced me to the field and I have been an operator for 24 years now. Korea is where he learned to operate the grader)

He was at Heartbreak Ridge, the Punch Bowl, and (please excuse the spelling) Chungamol east of Chorwon. He wore a pool table, a DUI, and of course the Thunderbird. He also trained with the 82nd prior to Korea and went through canadian Commando school as well as Field Force leadership school. I also know he worked in the war room at some time while in country. Any and all info anyone would be greatly appriciated. Dad passed away in Feb, of 2001 and my brother and I are trying to put together his service history. Thanks to all for your help.

Comments: H & S Co. has had a reunion every two years Starting in 1972. Contact me for details.
I have a database of 120th Engineers which has about 450 entries. These entries are mainly for H & S Co, it also includes some data on Veterans from the line companies mainly "A", "B" and "D".
If you are looking for a individual. I will check my database for the name. The more information you send the better.
Most of the men in my list served in Korea before 1953. I would like to add your name to my list.
Keywords: I was Motor Sgt. while the unit was stationed in Japan at Chitose and in Korea just north of Yon Chon.

Would like to hear from anyone from this period of time. Thanks

Some of us have a reunion ever 2 years at Claremore, Oklahoma, in October. On odd years. Many of have remained friends cause some of us grew up as kids together.

Comments: I am interested in finding out information on what happened to my dad. None of my family members have ever told me and no one is around to ask. My father, Joseph Edmund Ward, was from Thunderhawk South Dakota. Lemmon South Dakota was about 15 minutes away. He joined November 6, 1952, in Sioux Falls SD. While he was over there he was injured. Details are sketchy, all I know is that a bomb had exploded and he was badly injured on the right side of his body. He lost his eye, hand and half his stomach. He survived Thank God! because I'm here to ask anyone if they may have any information. He was 5'8", Blonde Hair, Gray eyes. He spent time in a hospital in PA, possibly Pheonix PA. His selective service # is 39 21 32 83. Service # was US55 305 597
I would greatly appreciate any information. Roslyn Ullman

I served in H&S Co. Assault Platoon Oct.1952 until Mar. 1953. I was
returned to the U.S.because I was underage. Right before I left Korea,
we had a U.S.O. show.My platoon Sgt.R.B.Randall asked someone connected
with the show to call me on stage to congratulate me on my sixteenth
birthday in Korea.
My name is Roger Chrisley but my nick name was "Combat".If anyone knows
me, please send an e-mail to me.
Some of our missions was to plug up any holes that might happen if the
guy up north decided to come south. We really were a bastard outfit, we
didn't do anything with the company we were attached to.
The Assault Platoon had 5 medium Sherman tanks, and 2 armored personel
carriers that we used on some of our missions. We had blades on the
front of our tanks,so if we had to go somewhere and there weren't any
roads, we'd simply make one.
We had quite a bit of fire power, since the tanks were equipped with two
30 cal. machine guns,one 50 cal.and one 76 MM cannon,and each APC were
equipped with one 30 cal.and one 50 cal. We would cover tunnels, clear
mine fields, and generally take life easy.
Ha,Ha!
