I am looking for men who served with my uncle, Master Sgt. James Lethel
Matthews of Bowling Green Ky.
He had a field commission of 1st Lieutenant and was acting as battery
commander for the 11th FA Bn. of the 25th Division when he was captured
on July 20, 1950. Sgt. Matthews was captured along with nine of his men.
Sgt. Matthews was killed during the death march. He was 31 years old
with a wife and a 5 year old son. He died before I was born in 1955.
My father, William H. Matthews was also in Korea, arriving after his
brothers capture. He was a medic in the Army.
My father has followed all the news regarding POW's remains being found
and returned. My uncle has a tombstone to honor his memory. We have
hoped that someday we can find his remains.
My father, William H. Matthews passed away May 15, 1997. I have all of
his info ation and would like to continue his search for the remaining
family members.
Any one out there with any information please contact me at:

Thank you,
Loretta Matthews
