Comments: I was assigned to the 11th Evacuation Hospital (SMBL) from June 1951 to August 1953 at Chunju and Wonju. Arrived in San Francisco on Labor Day, Septembver 7, 1953. It took two hundred and fifty-eight of us to run this unit and we did one hell'va job!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the Library still called the Chris Farlekas 11th Evac Library

Comments: This is writen on behalf of Chris Farlekas a medic in Korea 50-52 who saved many lives at the 11th Evac. He also developed a library while there and bought record players for the men to listen to. He was featured in the Korean War Stories Documentary last Veterans Day and lives in Middletown, New York. I am currently teaching him how to use computers and email so anyone who reads this who knows him can send email in care of me. Please let me know if there is anyone out there who can tell me about the 11th Evac Hospital Library or any other memories you have of Chris. Comments: My father remarkably survived several assualts, earning 2 silver stars. Hill 633 pinned down 6 hours 87 casualties. Hill I,437 67 csualties. Have detaled photos of full Korean Conflict if interested e-mail me. Also have detailed photos throughout vietnam war(special forces).This is Dedicated to my father Olney Alvin Knudtson who gave his full service to the U.S. Army. Comments: I served as Clinical Laboratory Office at the hospital from Nov 55 to May 57. We were first assigned to Ninth Corp. and later to the First Calvery. I would like to make contact with any one serving at that time.

Comments: My Father (from Austin, Texas at the time), Msgt. Ruben O. Poss - RA 6277625 - served in the 8211th from 1 November 1952 through 1 September 1953. Among other duties, he helped operate the Pusan NCO club as secretary.

I am very interested in contacting those of you who may have known him. I would like learn more about him and his activities during this time frame. He talked very little about his activities although he did share a few photos (which I will readily share), stories, and eleuded to being involved with G2.

He was formally trained in photography (I believe he used a Speed Crown Graphic camera in Korea and WWII) and may have used those skills for other than snapshots. He also used a Zenobia 120 roll film folding camera which I still have.

I was 8 years old at the time and vividly remember him returning to the (then small) Austin airport on either a DC-3 or C-47, late one evening in September 1953.

I would appreciate any comments, contacts, or directions.

Comments: I served with the 11th Evacuation Hospital from November 1951 until February 1953. I was assigned to the clinic laboratory most of this time.

The 11th Evac was transfered as a unit from Fort Hood to Korea. The unit had been in Korea some time (months) when I joined it.
