Pictures 11th Engr. C-Bn S3 Korea 1952-54

Comments: My father Willis Lee Maxwell, served in Korea late 1952-1954. Maybe until Jan 1955. One picture has a round plaque says 11th Engr.C Bn, S 3 operations officer. The palque has the black cat in center. We have many pictures of other soldiers but no names. Lots of pictures of the terrain and country side, and others of the soldiers doing what they do. I wonder if any one is interested in seeing these, or maybe can idenitfy persons or places. I have 50-60 of these.

1st duty assignment

Comments: The 11th was my 1st duty station.I spent most of my time in S Korea attached to the 2nd Inf Div on the DMZ.We earned an Armed Forces Expidichonary(SP) medal.Also an Imjin Scouts Badge.But I was an 18 year old gung ho type and voluteered for Viet Nam.Many fond memories of the summer of 68.I also served with the 11th At Belvoir in late 72 After I came back from Germany.Anyone who was there and would like to drop me a line please feel free to do so.Thanks to all who served.

Comments: I don't remember much it seems like i've got some kind of mental block. The pictures are still in my head tho. I went over on the USS General Freeman troop ship, from Japan and landed at Inchon in November 1950, got my points and left in November 1951.

Comments: I was stationed at the Water Point, standing guard one night, when enemy troops came through the back of the tent where 22 of our men were sleeping. I shot the intruders, and was shot in the arm by their fire. I was near Cornelius Cohn's bunk and the spent cartridges from my firing were hitting him.
