Comments: I am tring to find my dad's uddies from his unit. I know he served form 1952 til 1958. He came out as an Artiliary Sargent. He was from SC. Went to Fort Jackson, shipped to Fort ? in TX. He said he was to far from ocean i belive, don't quit remember. My dad past away back in 1992, he naver talked about the wr hardly at all. I am really tring to find out what he was like then, any pictures of him with buddies or letters or anything will be appreciated it lots He met a lot to me. Thanks for any help given. Comments: I am trying to find anyone who served with my father, MSG Jimmie A. Smith. He was a corporal during the Korean War. Dad served as a 60 gunner and was involved in the heavy fighting along the Yalu River. I will always remember him speaking about the barrel on his 60 melting from repeated firing. My father died in 1989, and I am trying to put together pieces of his past. Dad was also a veteran of WW2, where he served in the Pacific; likewise he served in the Army of Occupation in Japan in 1946. He served as a MP / Lifeguard at Hickam Field in Hawaii from 1947 - 1950. He went to Korea in July of 1950, and I am unclear which unit he served in. If anyone can be of assistance, please E-Mail me at the provided address

Keywords: from march 53 until september 1953 we flew daily missions over our sector of thr mlr(dmz)we flew L-19, L20, Dehaviland Beavers, 2 place choppers I first flew off of A22 airstrip, we then flew off of 2 other strips during my tour. As a pilot 1st LT I had several different tent mates. I would very much like to contact any and all members of the 3rd division air section during that time! I also had other friends who had been assigned to other units, divisions,units, etc. I have never received any info regarding reunions, or any type of contacts during all of these years. my basic flight training was from june 1952 at san marcos texas afb we graduated i believe in september then on to fort sill for tactial air training graduating I believe december 1952. plz e mail write or phone asap. He was a corporal in A Btry of the 10th Fa.
A veteran of both WW2 and Korea.
