Comments: I just came across this site and have some connections with the 1092nd Army Engineer Batallion in Salem, WV. I have an older brother, now deceased that served in the Air Force during the Korean War. I served with the 1092nd Engineer Batallion,Company C from 1956 through 1959. From there, I enlisted in the Air Force in 1960 to my retirement, in 1985.Back then, I was Spec 4 J L Wood 1092nd Engineer Batallion, WV Army National Guard, Salem, WV. Our Company Commander at that time was a Captain Wayland as I recall. Our personnal Officer was CWO William D McKain, and our state Asst Adjutant General at that time was Lt. Col. William E. Miller.

He was a first Lt. in Korea and became a Captain in the National Gaurd following his tour of duty. He recently died of cancer in Piketon, Ohio. Creed never spoke much about his experiences in Korea, and his family would like to know more about his time there. We would also appreciate information regarding reunions in Parkersburg or other locations in W.Va.

Comments: I have a friend, who is terminally ill, that was in the 1092 Engineer Combat Battalion, Company "B" in 1952. His memories of old friends and the war are all that he has left. He wants very badly to be able to contact, through me, anybody who is still around from the Korean conflict. His name is John Cooper and at the time was a Sergeant. He is black and a superb person, with a great personality. His memories of fellow veterans incude: Lt. Jeffries, Commander, Co "B"; Sergeant F/C Alfred Bennett. Also members of the 25th Division, include a Sgt. Kincaid, Captain Lang, Cpl.Johnson, Sgt. Woolton, Sgt.Raymond Chambers. If anybody can help me out, in any way, I would certainly appreciate it. Sincerely, Korean Veteran, Don Keglovitz "50-51"

War.

Hello from Ft. Eustis. VA.

Came across your home page while looking for information for my
father. He is really interested in locating some of his old friends
and acquaintances from the Korean War. If you could include his
info in your site it would be appreciated.

His name is David B. Fontaine (Sr). He attended basic training
in Hawaii April 1951 for 16 weeks. Spent the winter of 51/52
working his way up to the 38th from Pusan which is where the
ship landed (I think). The 1092 Combat Engineer Battalion (where my
father was) was attached/assigned to a National Guard unit under I
Corp.

From Korea he went to Camp Polk (52-54). Assigned to the 37th MP
Company, 37th Division. From there to Ft. Devens to finish his
enlistment.

If anyone wants more information, they can e-mail me at:
RetMDV@aol.com, or contact my father at:
PO Box 76, Townshend, VT 05353

(802) 365-7695.

Currently, I am in the US Army and would be glad to help in any way
I can.

I would very much appreciate your help in locating specific web sites
with information that I can pass along to my Father (a Korean War
Veteran) with regard to reunions, information, etc. I have looked
through your Korean War Project site, but have not found anything
specific based on the information I have, which is as follows:

My Father (Jack Cupito) was sent to Korea in April 1952 and came home
in 1954. He was an Engineer (?) in the 8th Army Division, 1092nd
Engineers Combat Batallion, Headquarters Company. He was stationed in
the Imjim River area in North Central Korea.

Thank you very much for any help you can give me. I would very much
like to surprise my Father and maybe contact other Veterans who were
stationed with him during his service.

Thanks again.
