DONALD J. Paul wrote on 2000-08-15 21:27:43.0

Comments: "Forgotten now and little honored then, but still They'll never have to wonder if they're men." This written by Slone Wilson in regards to the men of the Greenland Patrol 1942-1945. This seems to describe the Korean Vet to a tee. Please, no Hollywood type remembrance for us. We are of the few Americans left who know who we are. A Korean Vet protester would be disgusting and never all the "spin" verbiage that would attempt to justify it.

DONALD J. Paul wrote on 2000-07-01 23:16:43.0

Comments: Does any one remember the " Bobsy Twins", the only ones to have the dubious distinction of being the only jump school dropouts in the organization , think they went by the names of Wolfrey and Wagner. Don't think they got a lot of jumping done, but they sure could shine shoes well and that got them out of a lot of guard duty. I don't remember what thier MOS was, but I heard that all wash-out jump boys were automatially assigned to the cooks or the MPs anyway if anyone has any info on these two harden battle warriors let me know.

Really a nice project! Was able to locate info. on a old friend KIA.

Would like to see any info on 101st Sig.Bn. Ninth corps.

101st Sig Bn 1951-1952

Mr. Barker,

On behalf of a friend, Ed Angelo (Cleveland, Ohio), I'm looking for
Rich Phelan from Pennsylvania who served with Ed in
19th Engineers in Korea in 1952.

They were together from the beginning when they went over on the
troop ship USS Meigs until they returned.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts, please e-mail
 (dr.hat@ix.netcom.com) or call
216-251-7338. Thank you.

I myself was in 101st Sig Bn 1951-1952. I notice there's no mention
of that unit (or 19th Eng.).

Thank you.

Hi Ted,

Thank you for quick reply.

The 101st Sig Bn was part of I Corps, i.e. it provided communication
from Corps down to the Divisions. It's a National Guard unit out of
Yonkers, NY, and I was transferred to it after being activated as a
reservist in 1950.
