179th Infantry Regiment Association


Association Details:

The 179th Infantry Regiment Association, in conjunction with the 45th Infantry Association, holds an annual dinner and business meeting during the division association's reunion, usually held in late September-early October at the Biltmore Hotel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The 179th Infantry Regiment Association also sponsors a Command Post (Hospitality Room)for the three days of the reunion. It also has a quarterly newsletter, The Peace Pipe, containing news and history of the regiment's service during World War II and the Korean War.

Currently, there are more than 700 members. Those eligible for membership include persons who have been assigned or attached to the 179th Infantry Regiment; those attached to or assigned a direct support mission to the 179th Infantry Regiment while in a combat zone; and all past, present, and future members of the 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry, 45th Infantry Brigade.

The surviving spouses and descendants of those referred to above are also eligible for membership.

Four year, ten year, and Life memberships are available, and dues are modest in cost. We invite those eligible for membership to contact the Association at:
