My Dad Lonnie Tyson Sr. was aboard the USS Princeton during
the Korean Conflict. He passed away in !988. I have 2 of
his books of the USS Princeton. They are very old books
that my kids love to see what their grandfather use to do.
Dad never had the chance to meet neither one of my children
but through me they know their grandfather very well. He
was a very proud man and was proud to serve our country.

Thanks,
Melissa(Tyson)Desmond

Comments:

Hi. I am the daughter of George Worden. I know he served
during the Korean War for the navy. I don't remember the
name of his ship. I believe it began with a B. He was a
private. He never talked much about the war. He told me a
couple funny stories about him and his buddies. One was
that they wanted to get out of guard duty and they rubbed
themselves down with poison ivy and my dad was the only one
who wasn't effected. He found out he was immune to it. Ha
ha. I would like to talk to any of his buddies to find out
more information about him back then and what they all went
through. He passed away back in 1988 at the age of 55.
Thank you so much for any information.

Viki Worden

Comments:

Looking for information on my Uncle, Robert Thomas Willett. He was in
the U.S. Navy and part of a crew who's plane went down at Coco Solo,
Colon, Panama on July 8, 1949.

Before my dad died he said he thought there was a recording with Uncle
Robert's voice calling a May Day and at the end, the voice said "Oh My
God we're not going to make it".

I am on a mission in honor of my dad, his brothers, and my grandparents to
gather as much information as I can to document my Uncle Robert's life so
the coming generations of our family can know him, especially my son who
looks so much like him it is astonishing. I would appreciate any information
at all, even if only hear-say. In addition, I would like to know where to go to
request a copy of the audio referred to above.

He passed away a few years ago and I am finding that I
remember his stories but not many details, he did not talk
