We supported a Hawk missle sites parts and supplies. I have not been able to locate anyone who was stationed at this location. I just recall last names of of GI's I worked, and hung out with. Lagme from Hawaii, Wahl from Missouri, Richards from Texas, Phillips from Texas, Inman from Connecticut, Saurez from NY, Lt Umbel, Sgt Taylor, Warrant Office Mackie... It was a good tour, arrived Pfc, left as Sp-5. Have thought of going back to see how much it has changed or even if its still there.

I was a truck mechanic at the 121st Evacuation Hospital from 6-63 to 7-64. I did some research about ASCOM and found out it was phased out and ended its operations January 1, 1973. Most of the ASCOM complex was turned over to the Republic of Korea Ministry of National Defense on June 30, 1973. The village was Bupyong. I would also like to know what happened to the surrounding village, but have not been able to find out. Should some one who knows contact you please let me know.

Near Bupyong? Is that name correct? Was the village outside the compound called Panmunjom? (not the one on the DMZ). Is the 249th still there, or even Ascom? Or is the area renamed? I know the Dreamboat Club in Sinchon has to be gone.
